Mrs. Bennie Lee Dollar Phillips, age 86 of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Spalding County on September 24, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents, Prince Dollar and Frances Weldon Dollar; husband, James Lewis Phillips; sisters, Cecil VanAntwerp, Rachel Burnett and Allie Tate. Bennie was a lifelong member of Center Point Church. She was devoted to her church, serving many years in the Food Pantry, Senior Super Stars and Bereavement Ministry. Bennie also was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary’s Pink Ladies. She continued to serve others even while living at Brightmoor. She never missed the opportunity to pray for the staff, residents and family.

Survivors include her four daughters, Crissie Adair and husband, Terry of Milner, Dale Banks and husband, Paul of Griffin, Kathy Riggins and husband, Glenn of Smyrna, Lisa Jones and husband, Mickey of Griffin;  grandchildren, Kellie and Gil Kayton, Kim and Danny Moore, Lee and Kristie Adair, Todd and Kelly Harris, Julie and Tim Alford, Brad and Shay Riggins, Ben and Sarah Jones, Annabelle Jones; great grandchildren, Cameron Kayton, Erin Kayton, Aiden Adair, Caroline Moore, Nathan and Racheal Gray, Emily Harris, Jordan Harris, Marley Harris, Kaitlyn Collier, Jackson Riggins, Sydney Riggins; great great-grandchild, Cara Gray; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Bennie Phillips will be on Wednesday April 16, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00pm at Center Point Church. Pastor Tracy Stone and Pastor J.R. Stone will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Phillips will lie-in-state from 12:00pm until the funeral hour at the church.
