Mr. Charles Ray Perdue, Sr. age 80 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Mr. Perdue was born in Griffin, Georgia on December 28, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie T. Perdue and Carlyn Childs Perdue. Mr. Perdue was retired from Allied Systems aka Motor Convoy after 39 years of service. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, but was attending First Baptist Church Griffin. He was a charter member of the N.W.T.F. Mr. Perdue served on the Spalding County Board of Appeals and Spalding County Employee Grievance Appeal Committee.

Survivors include his wife, Joan P. Perdue; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Ray, Jr. and Faye Perdue, Michael T. and Peppi Perdue; grandchildren, Charlie and Laura Perdue, Lindsay Perdue, Celeste and Joe Brantley, Courtney and Chris Nichols, Chelli and Darrell Winkler; great grandchildren, Petra Celeste Bentley, Vei Winkler, Anthony Nichols, Cori Lynn Nichols; brother and sister-in-law, B. Warren and Gail Perdue and daughters, Sonya Perdue, Karlin Perdue; aunt, Sara C. McElveen and son, Leon and wife, Linda; sisters-in laws and brothers-in-law, Martha and Gene Adams, Robert and Barbara Price, Frances and Allen White, Edna and Bob Woeste; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation for Mr. Charles R. Perdue, Sr. will be on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will be in Westwood Gardens.
