Donald Edward “Donnie” Kiblinger, Jr., 52, Hampton, GA, son of Donald E. Kiblinger and Cordell Akins Kiblinger went to his heavenly home on July 23, 2014. Donnie was born May 13, 1962, in Atlanta, GA.
Donnie was a valued employee of Clayton County Water Authority for 32 years where he was highly regarded by co-workers. He was an accomplished trapper and was active in the GeorgiaTrappers’ Association. Donnie founded the Central Georgia Beagle Club. He both showed in and judged field trials across the south east, as well as being a recognized beagle trainer and breeder. Other interests included archery and bass fishing in which he won many awards as he avidly competed for excellence. He never relaxed the fight to upgrade his skills or refine the task at hand, and he was ever ready to share tips for success or give words of encouragement to a beginner. Donnie will be remembered especially for his quick wit, his spirit of adventure, his determination and his warrior’s heart. During the pain of his extended illness, Donnie’s faith in God’s love became the source of assurance that gave him peace.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife Christy Buchanan Kiblinger, his sons Garrett and Kyle, his daughter Christy Davis, Jacksonville, FL, his sister Gail Perkins (Ted), Rincon, GA, his brother Keith Kiblinger (Chris), Zebulon, GA, and his parents. Other survivors include numerous family members and a host of friends whom Donnie considered dear.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 3:00pm at Griffin Center Pointe Church, 1427 U.S. 41 Bypass, Griffin, GA 30224. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 pm until the hour of service. Reverend Clay Padgett will officiate. The family asked that you please omit flowers and food, and to please make a gift of remembrance to the Sunnyside United Methodist Church in care of Christy Kiblinger, 235 North Pomona Rd, Hampton, Georgia 30228 in memory of Donnie.
To help celebrate Donnie's love of the great outdoors, please, feel free to dress in clothing appropriate for trapping / hunting / fishing, a walk in the woods or spinning of tall-tales around a glowing campfire.
