Mrs. Margie Dyer Smith, age 88 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Smith was born in Cedartown, Georgia on June 27, 1925. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur Dyer and Bertha Ida Gallimore Dyer; husband, William Hall Smith; son, Harvis Russell Smith; daughter, Geraldine Smith Anderson; brothers, Edmond, Jack, James, Alvin, Cute and Bennie Dyer. Mrs. Smith loved gardening, fishing, crocheting and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children, JoAnn Smith, Linda Faye Smith, Deborah L. Scott; grandchildren, Rhonda Smith, Tammy Nealis, Sherrie Stanley, Jeffrey Smith, Michael Davis, Chris Anderson, Brandy Anderson, Andrew Scott; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Austin Dyer; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Margie Dyer Smith will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA.
