Mr. Wallace E. Pitts, age 75 of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

Mr. Pitts was born in Griffin, Georgia on October 1, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Elton Pitts and Velma Mae Pritchett Pitts; brother, Billy Pitts. Mr. Pitts graduated from Griffin High School, graduated from University of Georgia with associates in Arts and Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a retired Lieutenant with the Griffin Police Department, worked with the Spalding County Sherriff‘s Department. He devoted 16 years of his life to Federal Civil Service, all of which were with the U.S. Army Material Command, Security Support Division, assigned to the Conventional Inspection Branch as a Security Inspector. He was an avid golfer and member of Cabin Creek Golf Club, and a member of Griffin First Assembly.

Survivors include his children, Stephanie Pitts, John Pitts; mother of his children, Martha Pitts, her daughter, Ana Rose Perez Pitts; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Becky Pitts; sister-in-law, Betty Pitts; nieces, Julie and Jill, other relatives, Erin Gossett, Christie and Larry Arnold, Paige and Steven Taylor, Kyley Kinard, Michael Arnold, John Taylor Whatley .

Visitation for Mr. Wallace E. Pitts will be on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Randy Valimont will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
