Mrs. Dorothy McChargue Stanford of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

Dorothy was born on January 6, 1944 in Richland, Georgia. She is retired from Fashion Industries, was a member of the Southern Cruisers Car Club, loved country music, Elvis Presley, her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Quinton McChargue, Sr.; mother, Anne Ellen Horne McChargue; brother Roy McChargue, Jr.; nephew Brandy Keith Gregory; mother in law, Geraldine Stanford; aunt, Pauline Nichols.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger Stanford; daughter, Angela Sherwood and James Smith; grandchildren, Jamie & Mandy Steward, Justin Steward; great-grandchildren, Taylen and Braden Steward; siblings and spouses, Virginia and Tony Gregory, Quinnelle and Gene Bean, Audrey Calhoun, Gloria and Bruce Sapp, Kenneth E. McChargue; brother and sisters in law, Karen Stanford, Peggy and Gene Passmore, Ronnie Stanford; special friend, Laura Goss; several nieces and nephews; her beloved pets, Choo Choo and Jager.

A visitation will be on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Gene Nichols and Reverend Riley Finley will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
