Dr. Marie Page Richardson, age 54 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Eternal Hope Hospice surrounded by her family and friends.

Dr. Richardson was born September 14, 1962 in Scotts, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eda Mae Page and brother, Rufus Page.


Marie accepted Christ at the age of 15 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Mississippi. Upon relocation to Philadelphia, PA, they joined Mt. Zion AME Church. Work caused the family to move to Greenville, North Carolina where the family joined Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church and they were active members. On January 10, 1999, the family joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Griffin, GA and have remained faithful members. Marie was an active member of the Health Ministry, Henry Johnson Sunday School Class, and United Sisterhood.

Marie received her B.S. Degree in Respiratory Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She received her Doctorate of Medicine degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA . She completed her residency at the East Carolina University School of Medicine, Greenville, NC. She and her family moved to Griffin in 1998 where she began practicing medicine. Dr. Richardson worked as an Internist at her office in Griffin until moving on to become a Hospitalist in several of the surrounding county hospitals before retiring, having touched many lives.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Paige Richardson; father, Johnie Page; sisters and brothers, Mildred Scott, Johnny E. Page (Patricia), Ruth Page, Earnest Page, Larry Page (Minnie), Charles Page, Marilyn Diggins (Jerald) and William Page; special nieces, Desiree Diggins-Brooks and Alanna Brooks; special nephews, Yohon Tatum and Ronnie Dorsey, Jr.; loved one, R.T. Richardson; mother-in-law, Bessie Richardson; special friends, Rolanda Hardaway, Dr. Enid Lofters Jones, Michelle Price, Dr. Holli Viscusi and Dr. Cleopatrick and Mrs. Portia Lacy and Family; a host of nephews, nieces and extended family.

Visitation for Dr. Marie Richardson will be on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 26 2017 at 12:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Dr. Cleopatrick Lacy will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Ivy Beyond the Wall Ritual – Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be conducted Thursday May 25, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. at Conner- Westbury Funeral Home.
