Mrs. Joan Westhoven Heerschap , age 84 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Heerschap was born on November 14, 1932 in Clifton, New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Heerschap; her father, Leonard Westhoven; mother, Gertrude Young Westhoven; a daughter, Carlin Heerschap; and a sister, Evelyn Westhoven Marcucci. Mrs. Heerschap loved to read, cook and work in the garden, she enjoyed the outdoors and listening to music and traveling to France, she also loved spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Crews and husband Larry; granddaughter, Sarah Axsen and husband Johnathan; grandson, Matthew Youmans and wife Jennifer; grandson, Daniel Youmans; great granddaughter, Summer Youmans.

A private family memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 7 p.m. at her Griffin, Ga. residence.
