Joette Lewis Woodall, age 91, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Brightmoor Nursing Center. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Joe W. Lewis and Opal Steele Lewis.

She was born on June 20, 1925 in Vaughn, Georgia and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church which she attended as a child and moved her membership back to New Salem in 1994. She had previously been a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN., Mt. Olive Baptist Church in East Point, GA, and at the Chapel on the side of Lake Lanier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Clayton Woodall. She worked in the insurance industry for 40 years.

She is survived by her nieces and their spouses, Ginger and Rodney Evans, Carol and Donnie Helms, Sharon and Bruce Wilson, Charlotte Morgan, Tracey and Bob Balkcon, JoEllen and Joseph Gunn; nephews, Robert McKoy and Cena Hartman, Joe and Debra McKoy, Mark McKoy, Dale and Susanna Woodall, Lynn and Charlene Woodall; special great niece and spouse, Melanie and Jamie Fowler; special great great nephews, Jake and Grayson Fowler; sister-in-law and spouse, Carolyn and Herman Pearson; brother-in-law and spouse, Franklin and Patsy Woodall; many great nieces and nephews and cousins; special “dog child”, Kyla Woodall.

Visitation for Joette Woodall will be Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Reverend Mike Barnes and Reverend Ralph Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to New Salem Baptist Church, 57 Bicycle Rd. Griffin, GA 30223.
