Mr. Johnnie Edwin “Eddie” James, Jr. age 62 of Griffin passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin.

Mr. James was born in Griffin, Georgia on June 20, 1955. He is preceded in death by his wife Diane Trogler James and his father Johnnie Edwin James, Sr. Mr. James was a former manager in the meat department of Cub Food’s.

He is survived by his mother Frances and step-father Henry Smith of Griffin; children Jason (Heather) James of Griffin, Chad (Crystal) James of Griffin, Jonathan (B.J.) James of Griffin, Lori (Tommy) Holton of Griffin, Nikki (Tony) Wilson of Griffin and Jacob (Kayla) Horne of Griffin; 12 grandchildren; brother Danny (Darlene) James of Griffin, Bob Smith of Griffin, Mike Smith of Monticello, Dan (Donna) Smith of Griffin, Nancy (Terry) Gordy of Griffin and Kay (Gaylon) McKinley of Griffin. Mr. James is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation for Johnnie Edwin “Eddie” James, Jr. will be on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Mark James and Reverend Benny Tate will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Georgia.
