Juanita Taylor Roberts, age 91, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Juanita was born in Williamson, Georgia on June 10, 1926. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey B. Taylor and Lena Franklin Taylor; sister, Mildred Goen; brothers, Edward and Allen Taylor. Juanita graduated from Zebulon High School and Ruth Mitchum Business College. She was formerly employed at the Atlanta Army Depot, as Assistant Manager on the Medical D.W. After the war, she was employed at Walton Electric Company as Office Manager, until the business closed and later became Office Manager of the Cost Department at Dundee Mills where she retired with 34 years of service. Juanita was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as pianist. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Griffin, where she served as Team Leader of the Clothes Closet Ministry; member of the Magna Sunday School Class and XYZ. She was a member of the Young at Hearts of the First Methodist Church, and a charter member of the First Friends Club of First National Bank of Griffin, She was a former member of the Griffin Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She is survived by her step-son and his wife, Bob and Rosalee Roberts, of Moyie Springs, Idaho; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sister Jeanette Weatherly; nieces and nephews, Sandra and Lennis Chambers, Joan Harris; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Juanita T. Roberts will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Oak Hill Cemetery. Reverend Brian McCartney will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Clothes Closet Ministry of the First Baptist of Griffin.
