Leroy Chambers age 82 of Griffin, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018.

Leroy was born in Griffin on February 7, 1936. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Chambers and Ernie Christmas Chambers; daughter, Deborah L. Yearta; first wife, Jackie Chambers. Leroy worked for Springs Mills in the maintenance department. He was an active member of County Line United Methoidst Church.

He is survived by his wife Miriam Chambers; son, Virgil Chambers; grandchildren, Jennifer Lehtimaki and Kaitlyn Chambers; great-grandchildren, Amber, Liam, Severi Paul, Suvi, Hanna, Mayim; sisters, Carolyn Dingler and Jean “Pinky” Royals; brother, Austin Chambers. Several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Leroy Chambers will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Ed Swelha and Reverend Gene Walton will officiate. Burial will follow at County Line United Methodist Church cemetery.
