My wife and I were sadden to hear of Mitchell passing, growing up on the Village every body knew every body and Mitchell was well liked and he was a joy to be around. He was just full of knowledge that he challenged us younger kids to seek other things in life than just working in a cotton mill...I will always cherish his presence in my life ,Our deepest condolences to the family,Thanks Mitch for what you did for me!

Mitch and I became best buddies in the United States Navy when we were stationed in North Africa beginning in 1957. We kept up with each other over the years through email and Skype along with another buddy, Trent Blakley. We talked over world problems and probably solved a few. We had a wonderful time bring up and re-hashing all the good times we had back when we were young warriors stationed far from home.
"Red" will be missed by all of us who knew him. May God comfort his family in this time of sorrow.

JoAnn and family, we are truly sorry to hear of Mitch passing. He was a very good friend and cohort in racing. (Even if I couldn't drive it worth a flip!).
He will be missed.
