Mr. Stephen Ray (Steve) Howard, age 63, of Griffin passed away unexpectedly Monday May 15, 2017 from a heart attack.

Mr. Howard was born in Spalding County, June 30, 1953 to the late Ray and Anne Howard. Steve was married to the late Mary Beth Miller Howard, of Griffin, whom he fathered two children with, his son, the late Jonathan Ray Howard and his daughter, Jenna Howard Terrell. He worked for Snap-On Tools, but his best work came by his ability to love others well. Steve loved people outwardly and fiercely. He impacted countless lives by his contagious laugh, his eagerness to have a good time, his bear hugs, his unconditional acceptance of individuals, and ability to cut a rug. As an Eagle Scout, Steve was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed fishing, camping, and the great outdoors.

Steve is survived his daughter, Jenna Howard Terrell, his son-in-law Jacob Terrell of Griffin, and two grandpups, Douglas and Sophie Mae; sisters and brothers-in-law, Danae Jones of Sharpsburg, Tina and Brian Bast of Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Mayes and Clarice Howard of Peachtree City; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Harriett and David Brock of Griffin, Bart Miller, Jr., of Williamson; special friend, Karen Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

Visitation for Steve Howard will be Friday, May 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm at Conner Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a memorial service will be conducted in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dusty Takle will officiate.
