Mr. Thomas Edward “Ed” Harmon, age 92, of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Mr. Harmon was born in Concord, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Harmon and Mattie Mae Abbott Harmon; first wife, Nellie M. Harmon; step-daughters, Gail Hope Carter, Brenda Hogan; brother, George I. “Red” Harmon; sister-in-law, Mary Kate Harmon; nephew, Ernest B. Harmon. Mr. Harmon was retired from Thomaston Mills and Southern States. He was a charter member of Carver Road Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher. Mr. Harmon was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Harmon; step-daughter, Faith Foster; nieces and nephew, Martha Mae Vick and family, Christina Armstrong and family, Carol Eubanks and family, Diane Harwell and family, Betty Jean Manning and family, Keith Harmon and family; grandson, Kerby Lee Carter; step-children, Charles Beckham, Robert Beckham, Perry Beckham, Wesley Beckham, Terry Beckham, Jerry Beckham;

A visitation for Ed Harmon will be on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted following the visitation in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Mark Eubanks, Pastor Winford Dixon and Kyle Harmon will officiate. Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery.
