Tommy S. Williams passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, peacefully in his sleep, at the home in which he was born on December 27, 1926. He is preceded in death by his parents, Davis E. Williams, Sr. and Mary Shapard Williams; brother, Davis E. Williams, Jr. and wife, Anne N. Williams.
Tommy graduated from Griffin High School where he enjoyed singing in the glee club. Tommy attended Davidson College and Auburn University. He earned an Architectural degree from Georgia Tech and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
After graduation from Georgia Tech, his Architectural degree took him to Baltimore, Maryland, where he remained until 1966. He then returned to his home in Griffin and continued his Architectural career. He later became a full time investor. Other passions included Cajun food, many trips to New Orleans and photography which led to the construction of a dark room in the back of his garage.
A very great part of his life was to have served his country in the Jr. Army Air Corp; he was a very proud veteran. His interest in airplanes came at an early age as a result of his father, Davis, Sr. who flew a Jenny in WWI. Tommy had his first plane by the age of 20 and loved to fly.
