Mrs. Vonnie Mae Scott Jordan, age 94 of Griffin, Georgia went home to be with Jesus and her family that preceded her in death on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Mrs. Jordan was born on April 2, 1923 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Scott and Callie Bell Allen Scott; her husband, Jesse Lee Jordan. Mrs. Jordan was educated in the Macon Public School System after graduation she attended and graduated from Fort Valley State College from there she went to Bronx Community College and that is where she received an Associate Applied Science Degree. She retired from the City of New York School System. Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Eighth Street Baptist.

Mrs. Jordan leaves to cherish her memories; her children and their spouses, Ronnie L. Jordan (Belinda), Jessica M. Maximo, Jeffrey L. Jordan, and Vernadette L. Jordan; one sister Nanine Payton and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Vonnie Mae Scott Jordan will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Eighth Street Baptist Church. Pastor Antonio Lucas will officiate. Interment will follow at Griffin Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jordan will be carried to the church to lie in state from noon until the hour of service.
