Name: William Edward (Ed) Phillips Date: July 23rd, 1930 - February 23rd, 2010 Obituary: Mr. William Edward (Ed) Phillips, age 79 of Brooks, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Christian Ministries Hospice. Mr. Phillips was born July 23, 1930 in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Susie Phillips. Mr. Phillips formerly worked for Dundee Mills and retired from Spalding Gas after 41 years of service. He was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 59 years, Melba Foster Phillips; daughters and sons-in law, Brenda and Billy Clay of Gay, Rita and Larry DeVane of Newnan, Lisa and Ron Breier of Senoia; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Douglas Phillips of Jonesboro, Henry Phillips of Orchard Hill; sisters, Margaret Spencer of Jackson, Myrtle Chamber of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Mark Brumbelow and Reverend Mick Savage will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 and Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 7:00pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
