Mr. Awtry was born in Griffin, Georgia on September 18, 1985 to Dwayne Kelley Awtry and Betty Sue Evans Slack. Mr. Awtry was an avid deer hunter and was a member of Harvest Temple. Mr. Awtry is survived by his mother and step-father, Betty Sue and Jerrell Slack of Griffin; father and step-mother, Dwayne and Susan Awtry of Zebulon; sister and brother-in-law, Candy and David Massey of Orchard Hill; half brother, Dylan Awtry; step sister, Savannah Vaughn; grandparents, Charles and Susie Carlyle of Griffin, Kelley and Lou Ann Awtry of Griffin; great grandparents, Ray and Mary Brown of Hollonville; nieces, Savannah and Gracie Moss; nephew, Caleb Moss; special friend and father figure, William Lovick; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Jason Awtry will be conducted on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Harvest Temple Church. Pastor Tommy Powell, Pastor Clint Claypoole and Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Friends may visit the family Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 6pm until 9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
