(Jimmy) Norton, Jr., age 61 of Griffin passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. Mr. Norton was born in Spalding County on March 30, 1948 to the late James Lynwood Norton, Jr. and the late Loette Dillard. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 413 and a member of East Griffin Baptist Church. Mr. Norton was retired from Overnight Trucking Company. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Trish and Jeff Hallmark; son, Jason Norton and girlfriend, Patti Doster; granddaughter, Ryan Elise Hallmark; sister, Susan Norton; mother to his children, Vicki Nelms. Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Norton will be conducted Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend John Nance will officiate. Immediately following the service, The Masonic Lodge will have Masonic Rite. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
