Mrs. Emmie Mae Jinks Dye, fondly known as “Mama Emmie” and “Mimmie”, age 89, of Griffin passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Spalding Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Dye was born December 28, 1920 in Griffin, Georgia to the late James A. Jinks and the late Myrtis Woodward Jinks. Mrs. Dye was proceeded in death by her only son, James “Jimmy” Dye, and brother, Ernest Jinks. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Griffin and worked for Thomaston Mills, Griffin Division for many years.
Survivors include her aunt, Verna Mae Parris; sister-in-law, Elsie Smith; daughter-in-law, Olivia B. Dye; grandchildren, Patrick, Adrianne, and Susan Dye; great-grand children, Mikayla and Avery Dye; nephews and nieces, Steve Jinks, Joel and Debra Jinks and Lynn Carnes; great nieces, Macy Crow, Jenna, Ansley, Kaydie, and Lindsey Jinks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Emmie Mae Dye will be conducted Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Lewis James and Reverend Henry Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
