Obituary:
Mr. Benjamin Steven “Steve” Hollingsworth, age 85, of Teamon Road, Griffin, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Southern Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hollingsworth was born in Pike County on August 26, 1924 to the late Benjamin M. Hollingsworth and the late Ludie Woodson Hollingsworth. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Chasteen; brothers, James Hollingsworth and Harry Hollingsworth. He attended public school in Pike County. He retired from North American Phillips Lighting Corporation and Snapper Power Equipment. Mr. Hollingsworth was a Deacon and active member at Teamon Baptist Church for more than 65 years. Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loette Carter Hollingsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Diane Hollingsworth; daughter and son-in-law Jane and Roy Smith; sisters, Polly Wynn, Ann Lovin and Mary Beckham; brother, Wayne Hollingsworth all of Griffin; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Larry Anderson; caregiver, Angelia Norris. Funeral services for Mr. Steve Hollingsworth will be conducted on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Teamon Baptist Church. Reverend Argin Floyd, Reverend Bill Stokes and Reverend Mark Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hollingsworth will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
