Name: Thomas Leon "Sonny" Rodgers Date: October 19th, 1926 - July 16th, 2010 Obituary: Mr. Thomas Leon “Sonny” Rodgers, age 83, of Griffin, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Westbury Health and Rehab of McDonough. Mr. Rodgers was born on October 19, 1926 in Griffin to the late William Preston Rodgers and the late Maude Alice McDonald Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Mr. Rodgers was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Dundee # 5. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Faye Harden Rodgers of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Delton and Diane Rodgers of Milner; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Terry McDaniel of Griffin; grandchildren, Kenneth Rodgers, Karen Frashier and Ivy Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Kristen, Haley, Sydnee and Gracie; special nephew, Preston Bridges; several nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Cleo. Funeral services for Mr. Leon “Sonny” Rodgers will be conducted on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Preston Bridges will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday July 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
