Name: Glen Polk, Sr. Date: January 26th, 2010 - January 24th, 2010 Obituary: Mr. Glenn E. Polk, SR, age 70, of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Polk was born in Jackson, Georgia on January 26, 1939 to the late William Chester Polk and the late Willie Lee Byars Polk. Mr. Polk is preceded in death by granddaughter, Bailey Brooke Polk; brothers, Lamar Polk, Virgil Polk, Clarence Polk, Hiram Polk and Doyce Polk, Jep Polk; sisters, Edna Perkins, Rebecca Bishop, Ruby Davis and Virginia Shead. Mr. Polk was a member of the County Line United Methodist Church, Griffin, was the former owner/operator of Storey and Polk Gulf Service Station, the Presto Grocery and formerly worked for Harris Rental. He loved Hunting, Fishing, Cooking and spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. Mr. Polk is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Manley Polk; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn, Jr. and Mary Polk; grandchildren, Colby Polk, Laney Polk and Caden Polk; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Richard Fisher, Charlotte and Albert Busbee all of Griffin, Jean and Anthony Tolleson of Conley, Betty Norton Of Griffin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Polk, Waymon and BeBe Polk, Larry and Patsy Polk, Robert and Nell Polk all of Griffin; brother-in-law, George Shead of Griffin; sisters-in-law, Nancy Polk of Griffin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Pat Manley of Griffin; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Glenn Polk will be conducted on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Joe Peabody, Reverend Gene Walton will officiate. Interment will follow in the County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday afternoon from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
