Ms. Alberta Blanton, age 92 of Griffin passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
Ms. Blanton was born in Griffin, Georgia on April 7, 1926. She is preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Viola Sims Blanton; sisters Annie Ruth Blanton, Doris Blanton and brother Julius Ceasar Blanton. Ms. Blanton was retired school teacher and taught at Beaverbrook Elementary School in Griffin.
Ms. Blanton is survived by her sister Helen Epps of Griffin; brother Marvin Blanton of Griffin; cousins Wilma Taylor, Geneva Kendrick, Russell Starr, Hazel (Tommy) Willis, Yvonne Matthews, Dannetta Edwards, Martha Mathews and Minetta Williams
A visitation for Ms. Alberta Blanton will be Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Rd. Griffin, GA. A funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11am. Reverend Irma Lewis will officiate. Interment will at Griffin Memorial Gardens.
