Alton W Bowlden

Mr. Alton W. Bowlden age 97 of Griffin, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Pruitt Health Care in Griffin.

Mr. Bowlden was born in Fayetteville, Georgia on October 8, 1922. He is preceded in death by parents, Henry Grady Bowlden and Myrtice Banks Bowlden; wife, Betty Mae Short Bowlden; sister Ozella Singleton; brother, Charlie Bowlden. He served in the United States Army, he was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and was a deacon of the church for over thirty years.

Survivors include son, Greg Bowlden and his wife, Tina; son, Barry L. Bowlden; daughter, Angie Weatherup and husband, Monty; grandchildren, Ryan Bowlden and wife, Stephanie, Trista Bowlden, Kayla Norman and husband, Jake, Ashley Bowlden and wife, Ashley, Niky Bowlden and wife, Renae, Chip Weatherup and wife, Ashley, Jessica Scott and husband, Trevor; and eleven great grandchildren.

A visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 1:00pm until 2:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Reverend Gaines Wise will officiate.
