Mr. Andy D. Dix, Jr age 90, of Griffin, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
Mr. Dix was born in Porterdale, Georgia on March 8, 1929. His wife, Jeanette C. Dix and parents, Andy and Ophelia D. Dix all precede him in death. Mr. Dix was a retired Captain with City of Griffin Fire Department. He was a member of Rock Springs Church. Mr. Dix was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by children, Richard “Rickey Dix and wife Janet, Janice Dix, Mark Dix and wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Mike Dix, Robert Dix and wife, Jessica, Christy Farron and husband, Dustin, Krissy Hancock and husband, Matthew; great grandchildren, Lucas, Kale, Tori, Olivia, Noah; sister, Barbara Pickard; brother, William Larry Dix; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Andy Dix will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a graveside service will be in section C-1 of the new section of Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Daryl Woodruff will officiate.
