Ballard W. Brooks Jr.

Ballard Webster Brooks entered this life on July 5, 1943 in Charles, West Virginia and departed this life on October 12, 2019 in Griffin, GA. He was 76 at the time of his transition. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ballard Brooks, Sr. and Virginia Early Brooks, as well as, his sister, Celes Brooks-Carter. Ballard, a loving husband, father and grandfather is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Yvonne Nelson-Brooks, children (grandchildren), Valerie P. Brooks (Robert), Aaron Webster Brooks Pitts (Aaron, Salina, Amari, Isaiah, Shinobi, Gayle), LaTasha Brooks (Ahmon), and step-children, Sterling J. Nelson, and Shaleila J. Nelson (Richard).

Moving from Los Angeles, CA, Ballard and Carolyn retired to Sun City Peachtree in Griffin, GA when it first opened in 2008. They have been active in their community and the Greater Griffin-Spalding Community ever since. Ballard will be sorely missed. Keep Carolyn in your thoughts and prayers.

A memorial service for Ballard Webster Brooks will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11 a. m. in the Activity Center of Oak Hill Baptist Church, 100 Lakeside Dr, Williamson, GA 30292. Conner Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Rd. Griffin, GA 30223, is in charge of the arrangements.
