Mrs. Bettie Jo Barrett, age 85 of Hapeville, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Westbury Medical Care in McDonough, Georgia.
Mrs. Barrett was born in Alamo (Wheeler County), Georgia on July 2, 1934. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Pope and Louise Adams Pope; brothers, Robert Pope, Ronnie Pope; sons, Michael Freeman, Greg Freeman; daughter, Kathie Freeman Benson. Mrs. Barrett moved to Atlanta in 1952. She was a homemaker, a devoted member of Hapeville First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for the “Joining Hearts” class, she loved to cook and loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Max Barrett; daughters, Kellie Bennett and husband Ricky, Kim Garner; son, Scott Barrett husband Antonio Reyes; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Doris Oldham; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mrs. Bettie Jo Barrett will be Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A Graveside Funeral service will be Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 722 Conley Road, Forest Park, Georgia 30297.
