Mrs. Bettie Sue Smith, age 82 of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017. Mrs. Smith was born on August 22, 1935 in Moorhead, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her father, John P. King; mother and stepfather, Georgia and Harper McLean; son, David Smith, Jr.; grandson, Wesley Smith. She was formerly employed by American Mills as a payroll clerk, a Griffin Kiwanianne member and is a member of DeVotie Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, David Smith, Sr.; granddaughter, Caroline Smith; brothers-in-law and sisters in law, Henry and Frances Smith, Jerome and Sheila Smith, Ruby Kate Hale; cousin, Frances Blackman; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Bettie Sue Smith will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Buren Goss will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
