Bobby Gatlin

James Robert “Bobby” Gatlin, age 83 of Griffin, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. 

Mr. Gatlin was born on February 10, 1935 in Griffin.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie U. Gatlin, Sr. and Nora Corley Gatlin; brother, Willie U. “Bill” Gatlin, Jr.; sister, Betty Gatlin Etheridge. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. Bobby served as City Manager for City of Griffin and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Griffin.

He is survived by his daughters, Denise Jenkins and husband John; Tesa Crownover and husband Larry; brothers, William Leon Gatlin; Bobby has 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury. Dr. S. Ed Hoard will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
