Bobby B. Gordy

Mr. Bobby B. Gordy, age 90 of Griffin, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at his residence.
Bobby was born in Molena, Georgia on August 24, 1931. His parents, Byron Gordy and Bessie Stribling Gordy, his wife, Virginia Allen Gordy, son, Randy Gordy, siblings, Louise Hall, Buford Gordy, Jack Gordy, Ozell Gordy, Joe Gordy and Raymond Gordy, son-in-law, Ken Cloer all preceded him in death. Bobby was a veteran of the United States army in the 82nd airborne serving during the Korean conflict. Bobby was devoted to Southside Baptist Church and a humble servant of Jesus. He strove to be more like Christ and was always sharing the gospel through a piece of Werther’s candy.
Survivors include children, Sherry Archer (James) and Susan Cloer Bohn (Gerry); grandchildren, J. Blanton Archer, Melissa Ellington (Russel), Christopher Gordy, Alicia Wilson (Reagan) and Olivia Cloer; great-grandchildren, Ansley Ellington, Jamielyn Ellington and Harlie Gordy; siblings, David Gordy (Donna), Elaine Nordan and Cyrus Gordy; special nephew, Kenneth Hall; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Bishop; special companion, Ling Ling.
Visitation for Mr. Bobby B. Gordy will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church; Pastor Donald McMurry will officiate. Interment will follow at Westwood Gardens.
