Cassandra “Cassie” Anne Britt, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 23, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas. Cassie spent her youth traveling as the child of a military family. Her favorite destination being Guam, where she spent her teenage years and created memories she carried throughout her life.
A historian at heart, she spent her life researching family genealogy. She was a craftsman and artist of numerous mediums. She shared beauty and love through oil and acrylic art, pottery and ceramics, sewing, macramé, origami, crafts, gardening, woodwork, stained glass, and metal works to name a few. She loved nature and animals. Her greatest love, however, was her friends and her family. Cassie was a loyal and giving person. She was a devout Christian, she was always giving and assisting others, which suited her servant heart. She was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as Christ God forgave you.”
Cassie worked as a Warner Robins, Georgia school crossing guard, a Heard Elementary Lunchroom Volunteer, and a Northrop Grumman civilian employee. Her greatest role, however, was being a full-time mother and grandmother. A role in which she excelled.
Cassie is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Katherine, father, Floyd Crockett, younger brothers, Vincent and Mike. She is survived by her ex-husband and life-long friend Victor Britt (Patsy Lamb), son, Tony Britt, daughter, Gwen Williams (Wes Williams), granddaughter Brittany Seale, great-granddaughter, great-grandson, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Cassie requested cremation with a joyous, Second Line Jazz style celebration of her life. The family will have a private mourning period with announcement of celebration date.
