Catherine I. Willis

Catherine Johnson Willis, age 76, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Eternal Hope.

Mrs. Willis was born on September 8, 1942 in Butts County, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Johnson and Nellie Gresham Johnson; husband Sandy Willis; infant son, Gregory Edmondson, sister Wanda Gavel-Gonzalez, brother Wayne Johnson, son-in-law, Lane Brinson. She spent most of her career as a social worker with Dooly County Department of Family and Children Services and later retired from Glynn County Department of Family and Children Services. She was a former member of Horse Stamp United Methodist Church. After moving to Griffin 5 years ago, she became a member of Pomona United Methodist Church where she attended the Adult Sunday School Class.

Survivors include daughter, Tamara Miner and husband David; sons, Tony Edmondson, Brandon Edmondson and wife Diana. Grandchildren, Alex Edmondson, Samantha Edmondson, Marshal Edmondson, Mitchel Edmondson, Connor Edmondson. Step children, Benny Willis, Sandra Brinson, Blake Willis and wife Jenny. Step grandchildren, Kasi Owens Kishigian, Abby Willis, Joel Willis, and Nathan Willis. Siblings, Larry Johnson, Shirley Meyers, Elaine Horlock and Mike Nemzek, Linda and Frank Cuomo; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Catherine J. Willis will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 10:00 am at Pomona United Methodist Church. Reverend Judson Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:30 pm at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Georgia.
