Battalion Chief emeritus, Mr. Charles Franklin Biles, age 86 of Griffin passed away, Sunday, September 29, 2019.
Battalion Chief emeritus Biles was born in Griffin, Georgia on November 23, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Hugh Biles and Lillian Ison Biles, siblings, Herman Biles, Donald Biles, Geraldine Bankston and husband, Doug, Jeanette Dingler and husband, Billy. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War, a member of the McIntosh Baptist Church wher he had served as a deacon and many other phases of the church. Battalion Chief emeritus Biles was retired from the City of Griffin Fire Department.
Survivors include, his wife, of 67 years, Hazel Biles, son, Allen Biles and wife, Nancy; daughter, Kay Sisk and husband, Marty; grandchildren, Brittany Broce and husband, Derek, Ashley Biles, Loyd Sisk, Lindsey Sisk; great grandchildren, Bryson Sisk, Brayden Broce; brother, Douglas Biles and wife, Retha; sister-in-law, Joan Biles; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Battalion Chief emeritus Charles Biles will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Derek Lovelady and Fire Chief emeritus Willie Henley will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
