Mr. Charles E. Colwell, age 86, of Morrow, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Charles was born in Jackson, Georgia on May 5, 1931. He is preceded in death by parents Ernest Powell Colwell and Sara Louise Brooks Colwell; his brother, Harold Colwell and his wife Barbara; his brother, Lamar Colwell and his brother-in-law, Dee G. Sullins, Jr. Charles was employed with Roadway Trucking Company and retired in 1989. Along with his family, Charles loved yard sales and football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs. To him, a stranger was a friend he had not made yet.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Riggins Colwell; daughter, Sandy Burgess; grandchildren, Charles Bryan Burgess and Durrone Jovi Burgess and his girlfriend, Melanie Boudreaux; brother, Alton Colwell and his wife, JoAnn; sisters, Joanne Colwell Sullins, Faye Colwell; sister-in-law, Linda Sue Colwell; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Charles Colwell will be on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 12:00 until 1:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a graveside funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm in new section of Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor John Nance will officiate.
