Gene Laster

Gene Laster age 80, of Griffin passed away, Monday, June 18, 2018.

Gene was born on June 25, 1937. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Laster and Evie Mayfield Laster; twin granddaughters, Kimberly and Elizabeth Laster; mother-in-law, Martha Dorsey. Gene worked for Fashion Industries Inc. He was a hard worker who loved to spend time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Billy Laster and Timothy Laster; grandchildren, David Laster, Brandon Laster, Marissa Laster, Garth Laster, Daniel Laster, Ali Laster and Elijah; 7 great grandchildren; mother of his children, Liz Dorsey Laster; brothers, J.W. Laster and Burnice Laster; sisters, Mary Jo McKinney, Brice Middlebrooks and Louise Barham, several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at West Sunny Side Community Church. Reverend Doug Cone and Reverend Billy Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
