Charlotte Kimbrel Rowland, age 87, of Griffin, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital.
Charlotte was born in Flowery Branch, Georgia on January 24, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Alice Kimbrel; daughter, Kimberly Jean Brown; sons-in-law, Johnny Paul “Hootie” Abbott, and Herman Rentz; brother, Boyd Kimbrel, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Reeves, Barbara Letson, and Betty Setzer. Charlotte was retired from Kroger Company and was a member of Emanuel Congregational Holiness Church. Mark helped Charlotte fulfill her lifelong dream of singing gospel music and ministering in nursing homes across the state as Journey to…Gospel Singers.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Rowland; daughter, Regina Abbott; son, Paul Padgett; daughter, Amy Rentz; grandchildren, Marisa Abbott, Jon Abbott, Stephanie Emollett and Michelle, Jonathan Padgett, Matt Hand and Nashae, Andy Hand and Tonya; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Charlotte will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A service will follow in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury, officiated by Reverend Billy Andrews.
