Cherry Purser Hughes

Cherry Purser Hughes, age 55, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at WellStar Spalding Hospital.  

Cherry was born in Griffin, Georgia on July 18, 1965. She graduated from Griffin High School with the Class of 1983 and attended Rehoboth Baptist Church. Her favorite things to do were camping, fishing, boating, photography, and anything doing with the outdoors. She loved playing the drums and listening to music. 

Survivors include her daughters, Tristan Hughes, Jordan Hughes; her parents, Lamar and Janice Stitcher Purser; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Joe LaPrade, Arline and Jimmie Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Leslie Purser; father of the children, Josh Hughes; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Reverend Vernon Ritchie will officiate. Interment will follow at Westwood Gardens.
