Mr. Christopher James Newton, age 48 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Newton was born on October 16, 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Stanley and Elizabeth Snyder; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Jeneva Newton; uncles, Thomas Snyder, James Snyder, Dennis Newton and Carl Newton. Christopher was an Army veteran of the 82nd Airborne having served in Desert Storm and Somalia. He had worked in the heating and air business and was currently a building inspector with Henry County. He loved woodworking, reading, building things, traveling with his wife, and his most favorite place was the Grand Canyon. Chris loved music, having played the drums and was just an overall full of life individual. But most of all, Chris loved his wife, Abby.

Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Abby Sprague Newton of Griffin; parents, Sam and Linda Newton of Griffin; brothers and sisters in law, Scott and Melinda Newton of Franklin, GA, Rusty Newton of Williamson, GA, Bill and Jill Newton of Peoria, Ill, Andy and Nicole Newton of Norfolk, Virginia, Jeff Newton of Griffin, GA, Matt and Jennifer Newton of Fuquay-Varina, NC; uncle and aunt, Jamie and Patricia Newton of Gettysburg, Virginia; mother in law, Susan Kierbow of Griffin, GA; father and mother in law, Andy and Patsy Sprague of Griffin, GA, brother and sister in law, Harry and Jessica Kierbow of Woodstock, GA; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Coker, Hayley and Jasmine Coker, Jason Newton of Franklin, GA, Katie Newton of Williamson, GA, Jackson Newton, and Will Newton of Peoria, Ill, Connor, Hunter, Taylor, Peyton and Everly Newton of Norfolk, Virginia, Wesley Newton of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Eli, Huxley and Finn Kierbow of Woodstock, GA, aunt and uncle, Cecil and Patricia Roberson of Forest Park, GA.

Visitation for Mr. Christopher James Newton will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Conner-Westbury with Pastor Gene Luke officiating
