David Ray Johnson, age 57 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his residence.
David Ray Johnson was born October 22, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia. A “Grady Baby” from the start he was a spunky 6’10” man with a big personality, outgoing, spoke loudly and with confidence in his opinions, able to start a conversation with anyone he met and was always thinking of and helping others.
David loved God, his family, his two miniature schnauzers Cricket and Grasshopper, boats, being on the water, camping, tacos, ice cream, westerns, his recliner, music, blessing the neighborhood with his backyard karaoke, and was his absolute happiest on vacation and loved Savannah Georgia.
David had a jagged journey in this life but he lived life to the fullest and always trusted Jesus.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Johnson.
David is survived by his father Ray Johnson; wife Stephanie Johnson; Daughters Amanda Gunn (Raul), and Genevieve Doxakis; Grandchildren Lexi Hederson and Oliver Gunn; Sister Tina Martin (Mike); Brothers James Elder, Bobby Champaign, and Steve Champaign; Nieces Melinda Hinton (Greg) and Jamie Hart.
A visitation will be on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A memorial service will be Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Rock Springs Church. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate.
