David Edgar Pierce

Mr. David Edgar Pierce, age 89, of Griffin, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville, Georgia.

Mr. Pierce was born in Buena Vista Georgia on October 29, 1930. David was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Center. Spending time with his family was his main purpose in life. David was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Everette Hogg and Effie Stewart Pierce; brother, Billy Hogg; sisters, Inez Jones and Alice Peach.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Goddard Pierce; daughter, Sheryl Freeman and husband Bill; son, Alan Pierce and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Andrew Freeman and wife Taylor, Aspen Pierce and Shyann Pierce; great grandchildren Carson Smith and Zoey Scott; step grandchildren Holly Walker, Christina Meeks, and Willie Freeman; several step great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Len Pierce and wife Elsie; several nieces and nephews; the Heritage Inn of Barnesville B-Hall family.

A visitation will be Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 4:00pm until 6:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Griffin Memorial Garden. Reverend Ed Galbreath will officiate
