Denise Rose (Preiss) Battaglia

Denise Rose Preiss Battaglia went peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her family on Monday, September 3, 2018 at her home in Fayetteville, GA.  She fought a courageous battle against cancer for seven years.

Denise was born October 4, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Fred Preiss, Navy Veteran and Frances Preiss (Soran).  Sister of the late Ricky Preiss, Navy Veteran.  She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Stephen Battaglia, their three sons, Christopher and daughter-in-law Amy, Justin and daughter-in-law Jill, Daniel and daughter-in-law Lindsay and daughter Amanda. Loving and adored grandmother of 9 grandchildren: Austin, Anthony, Aidan, Avalynn, Blake, Torre, Lily, Lindan and Denlin.  Also surviving are her sisters Carol Ann Vernier and twin Donna Marie Mitchell.

Denise attended the Tante Marie Culinary Academy in Surrey, England and was an accomplished pastry chef.  She was also a highly successful Real Estate Agent while living in New Canaan, Connecticut.  Her strong Christian faith positively influenced her family as well as friends in many countries.
