Donald Eugene Jones, Sr.

Donald Eugene Jones, Sr. age 87 of Griffin passed away, Monday, June 11, 2018 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Mr. Jones was born August 17, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Marion Jones and Ruth Hazel Moore Jones, his first wife Louise Jones. Donald was retired from Coca Cola Company and after his retirement he was a school bus driver for 11 years. He also volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary from 2001 until his health declined in November 2017. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Jones; children, Gene Jones and wife Joanne of Fayetteville, Mitchell Jones and wife Sherry of Griffin, Eddie Jones and wife Kym of Texas, Jeff Jones and wife Beth of Griffin, Mark Jones and wife Anita of Griffin, Bobby Love and wife Missy of Williamson, Greg Love of Valdosta; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Autry; brothers, Ernest Jones, Bud Jones.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 2 pm, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Mark Sellers will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
