She was a natural born nurturer and caregiver.

Survivors include her daughter, Oma Doris Ponder Walton of Griffin, and fiancé, Robert “Bobby” Griffin of Newnan; special niece (whom she considered her “other daughter”), Myrle Dukes and husband, Marvin, of Griffin; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Brooks and Carol Brooks; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, G.F. “Pete” and Shirley Ponder of Cape Coral, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family, as well as many friends.
A graveside service will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 am in section D of Oak Hill Cemetery. Chaplain Jack Landham will officiate. Please assemble at the cemetery no later than 10:45 am.
It was Mrs. Ponder’s request, that no visitation be held. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, she would prefer that you simply remember her fondly and should you desire, to perform a random act of kindness in her honor.
The family will be eternally grateful to Dr. Hall & the staff of Brightmoor Nursing Center and Brightmoor Hospice for the loving, compassionate care given to Mrs. Ponder and the kindness shown to them during her final days.
