Elizabeth Allan Reid

Elizabeth Allan Reid, age 70, of 806 Maple Drive, Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Liz was born on November 24, 1950 in Columbia, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Christine Allan and Lt. Col. Bill Allan; and sister, Susan Culbertson. She represented the USA in the 1965 World Water Ski Championships in Surfers Paradise, Australia, then went on to dominate various water skiing events for the next ten years. After completing high school, she owned and operated one of the first ski schools in the United States.

Dr. Reid and Liz moved to Griffin, Georgia for him to finish his medical career, where Liz honed her Master Gardening skills and artistic clay works.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Bruce Reid; their son, Dr. Brody Reid and his wife, Dr. Katrina Quick Reid; and grandchild, Elizander Lochlan Reid; brother-in-law, Rick Culberson, and step-sister, Patty Fox.

A memorial service for Elizabeth Reid will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Griffin First United Methodist Church. The family will have a reception/mingle party/walk down memory lane at 806 Maple Drive, Griffin following the service. For those who can’t attend the memorial service, it will be live streamed from Griffin First United Methodist Church facebook page.
