Mr. Eugene Roland age 85 of Griffin passed away Monday, October 22, 2018.
Mr. Roland was born in Colquitt, Georgia on January 15, 1933. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis Eugene Knight and Lizzie T. Knight; mother-in-law, Eddie Mae McCalvin; several brothers, sisters. He was a retired Chef, a member of North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church, a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife Ruth M. Roland; daughter, Barbie Rooks; son Charles Roland and wife, Linda; son-in-law, Mike Rooks; grandchildren, Cindy Cofield and husband Keith, Charles Roland, Jr., Matt Roland and wife Erika, Katie Rooks, Amanda Roland; great grandchildren, Andrew, Ayden, Braelyn, Greyson, Christopher, Ashton, Lily; sisters, Carolyn Newberry, Alma Jean Shaw; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Eugene Roland will be Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a funeral service will be in the Chapel. Reverend Gene Luke will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens with Military Honors.
