Fred Lee “Butch” Blackwell, Jr, age 63 of Griffin, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.

Butch was born in Spalding County on January 29, 1955. He is preceded in death by his father Fred Blackwell, Sr; step-father, Everett Moore; wife, Cathy Loudermilk Blackwell. Butch was a Master Carpenter, a Mason and member of Living Waters Church.

Survivors include, step-children, Michelle Haynes, Miranda Reed; 6 grandchildren; his mother, Gwen Blackwell Moore; brother, David Blackwell; step-sisters, Gwynn Heslop, Lynn Arnold, Rebecca Goodwin; step-brother, Gary Moore; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Butch Blackwell will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Hanson and Pastor Mark Davenport will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
