GAIL CHAPMAN

Gail Chapman, Age 82, of Spalding County, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2022 at her daughter’s home.

She was the daughter of the late Albert Chapman and Annie Maude Baxter Chapman. Gail attended Spalding County schools, and was of the Christian faith. She worked at Bellsouth where she was a group manager until she retired. Gail loved volunteering with the Telephone Pioneers and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 5448 where she loved to help with events for our Veterans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rickey Smith, brother, Gary Chapman, and sister, Jane Chapman Garner.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Stephens (Ricky); grandson, Ray Smith; great granddaughter, Raegyn Faith Smith; sister-in-law, Donna Chapman (her email partner); her loving kitty, Boo Boo; dear friend, Norma Smith; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Eagles Way Church, 100 Hudson Road, Griffin, officiated by Reverend Buren Goss and Reverend John Nance. Friends may visit the family before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Eagle’s Way, and other times at the home of Sharon and Ricky Stephens, 392 Hutchinson Farms Road, Griffin.
