Garland Huey Knott, age 84 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.
Mr. Knott was born in Marthaville, Louisiana on August 2, 1935. He is preceded in death by his wife Josephine Knott; parents George and Nettie Knott; sister Madeline Strebeck; brother’s Floyd Knott and Curtis Knott. Mr. Knott retired after serving over 20 years the United States Army. After his retirement he went to work with Nalco and then drove a school bus for ten years with the Spalding County Board of Education. However, his passion was working on his hobby farm.
Mr. Knott is survived by his children, Cindy and her husband Randy Henley, Judy and her husband Bruce Varnadoe, Richard and his wife Rita Aspinwall, Randy and his wife Peggy Aspinwall, Allen Knott, Ashley Barnehouse, Jacob Knott and Sarah Knott; former wife Peggy Knott; grandchildren Ansleigh Aspinwall, Rick and his wife Shayna Aspinwall, Matthew Henley, Chase Henley, Anna Henley, Katie Seagraves, Courtney Adams, Carlie Adams, Cody Adams and Carson Varnadoe; great-grandchildren #14 and two nephews.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
